Introduction

This report details a unique psychedelic experience involving psilocin and LSD, as well as the unusual activities and situations that occurred throughout the day. The experience was marked by operating heavy machinery, smoking cannabis, and navigating through a series of strange encounters. Although the effects of the substances were not drastically unusual, the circumstances and actions surrounding the trip made it worth documenting.

Pre-Dose Preparation

On a hot summer day, prior to nightfall, the events of the trip began. The exact date and times are hazy, as this experience occurred several months ago. At the time, my past psychedelic experience included:

  • 25i-nBOME (10 experiences)
  • Psilocin or 4-AcO-DMT (4 experiences)
  • Psilocybin Cubensis (3 experiences)
  • DMT (1 experience, with very minimal effects)
  • Mystery Acid (1 experience)
  • LSD (1 experience)

The adventure began with a casual hangout and cannabis smoking session with a dealer and semi-friend. While waiting for additional supplies promised to me (1 psilocin chocolate and 4 tabs of LSD), I accompanied her on a trip to pick them up. After returning home, I consumed the psilocin chocolate, which was about the size of a domino.

Approximately ten minutes after ingesting the chocolate, I received a call from the dealer, asking me to pick her and her friend up from his trailer park. Although I had just taken the psilocin, I agreed to drive, as she reassured me that the effects would take a while to kick in.

First Signs of Effects

As I drove out to the trailer park, located across from a large power plant in a remote area, the first signs of the psychedelic effects began to manifest. I noticed a strange sensation in my mouth and eyes—feeling both dry and “hairy.” My mind began to slip into an altered state, and I started to perceive my environment differently. I imagined the friend who was with the dealer as a character from Breaking Bad, particularly Skinny Pete, based on his appearance and mannerisms.

While driving back, I began experiencing a signature effect of my psychedelic trips: intense embarrassment. This feeling of self-consciousness and unease about everything I did intensified, and I became increasingly aware of my appearance and the smallest of details. I was wearing a beige patchwork hat that felt awkward, and the Aphex Twin CD I had been playing felt somehow wrong. I apologized for the music, though the dealer reassured me, saying she and her friend liked whatever I liked. This moment offered a brief but comforting connection that helped me ease some of the discomfort.

During this drive, I realized that the people I was with were quite nice, and there was no reason for me to be afraid. The friend, “Skinny Pete,” even expressed surprise at finding an Electric Light Orchestra vinyl under the seat. This interaction further grounded me in the present moment, despite the distorted perceptions and emotions that were unfolding.

Strange Encounters at the Trailer Park

Upon dropping off the dealer and her friend, I returned to my car, now fully enveloped in the effects of the psilocin. The song “minipops10[20.2][sourcefield mix]” from the Aphex Twin album SYRO played in my car, and it sounded like it was speaking directly to me. The music seemed to offer reassurance, with its calming tones providing a sense of relief as I reflected on my actions and decisions.

Despite the reassurance, my body continued to feel increasingly strange. My skin felt warm and stretched, like a piece of taffy pulled over a rough skeleton. The sensation in my mouth became more pronounced, and I began to feel as though my face and body were not entirely mine. This physical discomfort paired with the heightened sensory experiences began to intensify as the journey continued.

The Journey Home

As I drove home, the experience became even more intense. I noticed rainbow-like slashes running down the road in large arcs, and I felt an almost electrical impulse to follow them. I resisted the urge, knowing it could be dangerous to veer off course. However, as I focused more on the visual distortions, I began to realize that the rainbow effects were actually wiper marks on the windshield. This sudden awareness of my surroundings grounded me momentarily, but the feeling of disorientation persisted.

The wind from the car’s air conditioning felt oddly dry against my eyes, which were already feeling strained. I turned off the AC, but the sensations of intense fear and anxiety continued. My heart pounded, and I felt a strong electrical tingling sensation in my face. The difficulty in keeping my eyes on the road became overwhelming, as the windshield obstructed my entire field of vision. This made driving incredibly difficult and frightening.

The combination of visual distortions, intense physical sensations, and emotional unease contributed to an overwhelming experience. The drive home seemed to stretch on for what felt like an eternity.

Conclusion

After finally reaching home, I was left to reflect on the intensity of the experience. Although the effects of psilocin and LSD were not completely out of the ordinary for me, the series of events surrounding the day, including operating a vehicle, interacting with others, and dealing with visual and physical distortions, made the experience feel particularly noteworthy. It was an adventure marked by moments of discomfort, connection, and reflection—a memorable journey into the mind while navigating the complexities of everyday life.
