1. Introduction

At the age of 18, I decided to experiment with 25I-NBOMe by taking a single tab. The experience was intense and surreal, beginning at my high school and eventually evolving into a profound trip filled with vivid visuals, altered perceptions of reality, and a deep sense of unity with my surroundings. I didn’t anticipate how the setting and interactions with others would affect my trip, but what followed was a journey that was both fascinating and overwhelming.

2. The Beginning of My Trip

2.1. Gym Class and Changing Room Experience

The day began relatively normally with a gym class that involved swimming. At first, I didn’t feel much of the drug’s effects, but that changed when I found myself in the changing room shower. The setting was strange — I was surrounded by younger girls, freshmen, which created an odd sense of separation, as I was a junior. It was winter, and I had forgotten my towel, which only added to the discomfort. To make the situation even stranger, I had recently shaved my head and had yellow paint on my face. I was the only one who didn’t shave her legs or armpits, which made me feel even more out of place.

Despite all of these odd factors, I felt an unusual sense of connection, as if we were all part of the same family, a recurring feeling for me when I am tripping. It was as if we shared a unity that transcended the superficial differences in appearance or age.

3. English Class: The Trip Deepens

As I moved on to my English class, which was across the street from the main school building, the effects of the NBOMe began to intensify. We were reading a poem about the disconnect between humanity and nature, a theme that resonated with me on a deep level.

By this point, I couldn’t distinguish colors as separate objects. Everything around me blended into a surreal, colored pattern. It was as though reality had morphed into a kaleidoscope of colors, and I couldn’t find clear distinctions between objects. I noticed that my classmates appeared to me as strange animals, further reinforcing my altered state. This wasn't entirely a negative perception; it just felt as though I was seeing humans in their raw, animalistic nature.

There was also an unsettling realization about human behavior — I felt as if people were acting colder and less affectionate than they actually were. I could see the walls people put up around themselves, trying to appear harder and more distant than they truly felt inside.

4. Art Class: Kaleidoscopic Perception and Empathy

In art class, my task was to draw trees, but my perception was too altered to focus. The trees kept transforming into a kaleidoscopic eyeball pattern, and it became nearly impossible to stay on task.

At the same time, I found myself interacting with a girl I didn’t particularly like. Usually, her habit of constantly interrupting me would irritate me, but during the trip, I felt an overwhelming sense of empathy for her. She appeared to me as a wounded animal, someone who was afraid of opening up and being vulnerable. I found myself wanting to help her feel more secure, and we even had a pleasant conversation about the Beatles — something that would have seemed unlikely in any other context.

5. A Vision Triggered: Crossing Paths with a Former Teacher

After school, a friend suggested we go to the Race and Diversity Club. As we were walking across the street to the club, I unexpectedly ran into a former teacher. This seemingly ordinary encounter triggered a sudden vision, even though I had started to come down from the peak of my trip by that time.

As soon as I saw my teacher, it was as though time stopped. I found myself experiencing a profound vision that expanded beyond the physical world. First, I saw a street sign, then the entire city of Lakewood, followed by the state of Ohio, the United States, the Earth, the solar system, and finally the entire universe. This was when I remembered a previous vision I had experienced during another trip, one that I had forgotten until that moment.

6. The Cosmic Revelation: Understanding Opposing Energies

The vision continued to unfold, revealing an image of positive and negative energy expanding and contracting. I perceived this as a symbol of neutrality or nirvana, where everything exists in balance. The imagery was striking: a black backdrop representing nothingness, with two white spheres in front of it. Though they appeared similar, I instinctively knew that the spheres were opposites.

From these spheres emerged a wispy web-like structure, almost like food coloring dropped into water. The spheres expanded outward in infinitely complex patterns, moving in opposite directions. Eventually, the spheres began to curve back toward the center, where they met and neutralized each other. When this happened, everything returned to black — a state of nothingness, peace, and equilibrium.

This vision was a profound representation of the interplay between opposites, the eternal balance between creation and destruction, positive and negative energy, and the cycle of existence.

7. Conclusion

My experience with 25I-NBOMe was powerful and deeply introspective. Throughout the trip, I encountered profound feelings of unity, compassion for others, and an intense awareness of the underlying patterns in the universe. From feeling out of place in the changing room to having cosmic visions, this trip was a journey of self-discovery and reflection on the nature of existence. The sense of unity I felt with others, combined with the cosmic revelation of opposing energies, left me with a lasting understanding of the balance and complexity of life.
