Introduction
This report recounts a psychedelic experience involving a combination of LSD and cannabis. The effects ranged from intense euphoria and interconnectedness to overwhelming anxiety and vivid hallucinations. The trip was initiated with 2x 150μg LSD tabs, followed by the consumption of 4 grams of cannabis over the course of the evening.
Initial Phase: The First Effects
The journey began on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 18:30, when the first tab was consumed. Over the next hour, the effects gradually began to manifest while watching the TV show House M.D. At around 19:00, objects in the surroundings started "bulging" and shifting, marking the onset of visual distortions typical of LSD. Drowsiness accompanied these early effects, likely due to the relaxing environment and the initial dose settling into the body.
By 20:00, the second tab was swallowed, and cannabis was introduced into the mix with the first blunt. The combination of substances began to amplify the sensory experiences, signaling the start of a deeper dive into altered consciousness.
The Journey Begins: Psychedelic Visuals and Euphoria
At this point, the individual created an ideal environment for the experience, using a dream machine—a stroboscopic flicker that produces visual stimuli. Music was playing, the screen was turned away, and the user laid down in bed, ready to fully engage with the effects.
Upon closing their eyes, abstract and random patterns appeared, typical of LSD-induced visuals. These patterns gradually gave way to a more profound experience as the user felt themselves being transported into a vast, pitch-black void. Physical sensations began to fade, with a complete disconnection from the body. This led to an overwhelming sense of euphoria, which further escalated into a feeling of having reached an "all-time-high."
A significant moment occurred when a dazzling pyramid-like object appeared, symbolizing the interconnectedness of the universe. The individual felt as though they were observing the flow of the universe as particles, detached from human life and its complexities. This profound sense of unity and oneness dominated the experience.
The Second Peak and Heightened Delirium
After coming down briefly from this peak, the individual craved a return to the profound sensations and decided to smoke another blunt. As the second peak approached, unsettling sensations began to emerge. Voices from outside the room became an intrusive element, leading to anxiety and confusion about whether the sounds were real or imagined. The paranoia heightened to the point of closing the window to block out external stimuli.
With closed eyes, the visuals became more intense and abstract. Shadowy figures morphed into bizarre, demonic landscapes, including a monstrous planet with exaggerated, cartoon-like arms and teeth that consumed everything in its path. Delirium set in, accompanied by a deepening disconnection between the mind and body.
Suddenly, the individual experienced a deafening shock, feeling as if they were being "defibrillated." This tactile hallucination caused immense discomfort, as if the brain was being "fried in a cooking pan." The intensity of the experience led to feelings of having overdosed, creating a fear of impending physical harm, possibly even a seizure.
The Come Down and Aftermath
The fear and anxiety became overwhelming, prompting the individual to switch on the room’s light in an attempt to break the cycle of negative sensations. A few cigarettes were smoked in an effort to calm down. Despite the intensity of the visuals, which seemed to "look back" at the individual, there was also a sense of intrigue at their power.
Eventually, the trip began to subside, and after twelve hours, sleep was finally possible. It took several days to process the experience fully, and the user noted that the excessive cannabis consumption likely played a major role in intensifying the more delirious and anxiety-driven aspects of the trip.
