Introduction

In this detailed report, I will share my experience with the psychedelic compound 2C-C, focusing on the effects of a 100mg dose. This includes both the physical and psychological reactions I encountered, as well as how the substance interacted with my body. My experience also involved combining 2C-C with a benzodiazepine to mitigate anxiety, and I will discuss the influence of this combination. Furthermore, I will delve into my thoughts on the drug's unique qualities and its potential risks.

Preparation and Initial Dose

Dosage and Timing

I decided to take 100mg of 2C-C, a moderate dose for this substance, and divided it into two separate doses spaced 40 minutes apart. This was to ensure a controlled onset and minimize any overwhelming effects. While the experience was mostly predictable, some unusual physical sensations and anxiety-related symptoms were present, which I’ll detail below.

Initial Physical Effects

As the substance began to take effect, the onset was relatively slow, as expected. However, I began to experience an unpleasant sensation of nausea that was unlike typical gastrointestinal discomfort. It wasn’t the kind of nausea that would make me vomit, but more of a lingering, uncomfortable feeling in my belly. This sensation was definitely a bit odd, but not entirely debilitating.

Psychological and Physical Effects

Heart Rate and Panic Attack

A particularly concerning symptom that I encountered was a significant spike in heart rate. Initially, my heart rate jumped to 140 BPM, which was alarming. My body felt strange, as if it were tightly wound, and there was a notable sense of discomfort, much like my previous experiences with other psychedelics such as LSD and DOB. The sensation was intense enough that I wondered whether others might have encountered something similar, but I found no reports of this particular reaction.

This experience led me to believe that I might have been dealing with a panic attack, though I tried to resist the urge to take a benzodiazepine. However, after a short period, the anxiety was overwhelming, and I decided to take an etizolam to calm myself down psychologically. Despite this, my heart rate remained elevated, fluctuating between the 110s and 130s, even after the calming effects of the benzo took hold. The heart palpitations were accompanied by feelings of tightness throughout my body, which was somewhat concerning.

To monitor the situation, I checked my heart rate using a Fitbit app, and while the graph never registered above 140 BPM, it felt as though it had risen to 180+ BPM at times. This discrepancy between sensation and what was measured raised my concern. In addition, I took my blood pressure, which was slightly elevated compared to usual but still within a safe range.

Muscle Tension and Sensations

Along with the heightened heart rate, I began experiencing muscle tension in various parts of my body. This tension was somewhat painful and occurred randomly in areas such as the left side of my neck, the left arm, my rib cage, and even in my fingers and toes. The muscle tightness made it difficult to find my pulse at both my wrist and neck, which was another strange sensation.

There were also a few additional odd sensations, including difficulty staying awake, vision problems, and mild hot/cold flushes. At this point, it was unclear whether these effects were due to the 2C-C, the benzo, or the panic attack itself. Regardless, all of these physical symptoms dissipated after approximately two hours, and my blood pressure returned to normal.

Visual Effects and Perception

Visuals

The visual effects of 2C-C were moderate, ranking at a "B+" level at best. They were not overwhelming but still noticeable. One of the more prominent visual experiences was a drifting effect, where my perception of reality would warp, and geometric patterns would occasionally appear in my vision. This was similar to the kind of visual distortions experienced on other psychedelics. There were moments when I would be momentarily blinded by these geometries, making it difficult to focus on anything.

Despite the noticeable visual alterations, I found myself unable to clearly categorize them as either realistic or cartoony. The geometry had a digital appearance with a glossy finish, yet there was still something that felt somewhat natural about it. Additionally, closed-eye visuals reached near-level 4, which is a significant visual effect, though not startlingly intense for someone with extensive experience with psychedelics.

Post-Experience Observations

Return to Normalcy

By the time the experience reached T+3:00, I began to rapidly come down. All effects from the 2C-C had subsided, and I no longer felt any trace of the drug. Sleep became possible around T+5:00, marking the end of the active phase of the trip.

Further Use of 2C-E

After the 2C-C experience had concluded, I decided to insufflate a small amount of 2C-E. I felt the expected effects of this substance at the dose I took, which led me to believe that there had been no immediate tolerance build-up from the 2C-C. It was possible that 2C-C does not stimulate the 5HT2A receptor as strongly as other compounds like 2C-B or LSD, meaning it doesn’t induce the same level of receptor upregulation, which would explain the lack of tolerance development.

Reflections on the Experience

This experience with 2C-C led me to conclude that the compound, while unique, is not one of my favorites. Despite this, I believe it’s worthwhile to try, especially for those interested in its sedative qualities. Unlike many other psychedelics, 2C-C has a dominant sedative effect that makes it useful for relaxation. The lack of body load and the maintenance of clear, unaltered thinking are key positive points. However, the mild side effects, particularly the muscle tension, make it a bit challenging to handle at higher doses. For me, the 100mg dose seems to be at the limit where the side effects become noticeable and somewhat severe. Therefore, I would recommend not exceeding this dose unless you are prepared for the potential discomfort.

Conclusion

2C-C is a unique and interesting compound, but it’s not one that I would recommend as a regular go-to for psychedelics. The sedative effects, combined with manageable visuals and a lack of intense body load, make it an interesting choice for those seeking a psychedelic experience with a more relaxed quality. However, the physical side effects, such as muscle tension and potential anxiety, should not be underestimated. Despite these challenges, 2C-C offers a novel experience that could be valuable to those exploring different psychedelics.
