Dosage: 15 mg of 4-HO-MET ingested orally

This report outlines my first experience with 4-HO-MET, a psychedelic substance that profoundly impacted me. I had some experience with milder psychedelics such as 2C-B and DOM, but none of them came close to the intensity of this trip. My aim in writing this report is to share my experience so that others can decide whether they want to try this powerful compound.

The Start of the Journey: T+0

At 6:45 PM, I ingested 15 mg of 4-HO-MET by dissolving the powder in cherry cola. The taste was horrendous, similar to bad MDMA, so I quickly drank the rest of the cola to wash it down. I had not eaten since 12:30 PM, which likely contributed to the rapid onset of effects.

First Effects: T+0:10

To my surprise, I began feeling the effects much sooner than expected. Normally, substances I take orally require at least 25 minutes to kick in, even on an empty stomach. However, within 10 minutes, I began to feel a familiar "wobble" signaling the onset of a trip. Colors became noticeably more vivid, and visual distortions started to appear.

I went to the bathroom to check my pupils and found them dilated. The most striking visual was the shower curtain, which rippled as though thousands of snakes were slithering underneath its surface. Feeling overwhelmed, I returned to my room to find a quiet space, but the auditory effects intensified. I could clearly hear my uncle and father discussing unpleasant topics like drugs and murders, which only added to my discomfort. Needing to escape, I dashed up to my bedroom.

Overwhelming Sensations: T+0:20

Once in my room, I was completely overwhelmed by the intensity of the trip. I felt disoriented and clumsy, knocking things over as I undressed and crawled into bed. Instead of falling asleep, I drifted into a vivid world of internal visions. Random German words seemed to flood my mind, which may have been influenced by my German grandmother. These linguistic hallucinations were accompanied by alternating waves of nausea and euphoria.

When I opened my eyes, my dark room was filled with distortions. Limited light from outside was magnified into something visually stunning. I lost track of time completely at this stage and could only focus on the surreal visuals and sensations.

Lost in Time and Thought

As the trip progressed, I found myself fixating on strange thoughts about time, history, and the interplay of different senses. This repetitive thinking began to frustrate me, as my mind seemed stuck in a loop, exploring the same ideas from different angles. At one point, I became so agitated by these thoughts that I got out of bed, turned on the light, and began pacing around my room.

This phase of the trip reminded me of the delirium I had experienced during a flu in my teenage years. I even found myself muttering some of these repetitive thoughts aloud. Visually, my surroundings remained intensely distorted, and the sensations in my body were heightened to uncomfortable levels.

The Return to Reality: T+4:40

After what felt like an entire day had passed, I finally began to come down from the peak of the trip. In reality, only several hours had passed. My body felt cool, and my tongue became hypersensitive, as if I had a hair stuck on it that I couldn't shake off, though I knew nothing was there. My hands felt tight and swollen, likely due to the heightened tactile sensations.

I got out of bed to get some water, but my vision was still distorted, and my skin appeared to ripple. Upon returning to bed, I tried to sleep, but my mind kept replaying the events of the trip. I was also starting to develop a mild headache, which added to my discomfort.

Reflections and Afterthoughts

As I lay in bed, I reflected on the entire experience. My mind was still racing, and though I wanted to rest, I couldn't help but process everything I had been through. Interestingly, I found myself easily aroused during this period, and I wondered if being intimate with a partner after the initial peak might enhance the experience. However, I decided not to push myself any further that night, opting to let my body rest instead.

I eventually fell asleep sometime after 5:00 AM, feeling both mentally and physically drained from the experience.

Conclusion

My first encounter with 4-HO-MET was intense and mind-bending. The rapid onset, overwhelming visuals, and deep mental explorations made it a trip I won't forget. Despite some discomfort during the peak, I found the experience overall to be enjoyable and insightful. I plan to revisit this substance in the future, but I will wait for tolerance to subside and may experiment with music next time to see how it alters the experience.

For those considering trying 4-HO-MET, be prepared for a powerful trip that can take you by surprise, even if you're experienced with other psychedelics. I hope this report provides some helpful insights into what you might expect.
