Introduction

In this experience report, I will detail my journey with an 85 mg dose of a certain psychedelic chem. The report covers the onset, peak, and comedown, highlighting the physical and mental effects I encountered. I have split the dose into two capsules, each taken about 30 minutes apart, and I will discuss the subsequent effects, from the initial rush to the final moments of the trip.

Initial Effects

Sudden Rush and Anxiety

At approximately 40 minutes after taking the first capsule (T+0:40), the effects of the chem hit me suddenly. I began to feel jittery and restless, and my heart rate sharply increased to around 120 beats per minute. My heart was palpating, and there was a noticeable level of anxiety. This raised concerns about the effects on my heart, and though I was unsure if such symptoms were typical, I decided to ride out the experience and observe what would happen next. Fortunately, there was no escalation into something more concerning, though the initial discomfort was hard to ignore.

Body High and Muscle Tension

As the effects continued to unfold, I noticed a pleasant body high beginning to form. This was accompanied by moderate muscle tension, particularly in my biceps, which felt tight and unrelaxed. My body experienced muscle twitches as well, which were noticeable but not overly painful. I also had some trembling, likely a result of the stimulant nature of the substance, although the overall feeling remained more sedative than stimulating.

Tremors and Stimulant Effects

The tremors were a significant aspect of the early phase of the trip. This stimulant-like sensation made my body feel restless, but it was accompanied by an overarching sense of sedation. Despite these feelings of agitation, I tried to remain calm and not let the experience overwhelm me. The overall nature of the trip seemed to have an interesting duality, where the drug provided both stimulation and sedation, leading to a somewhat paradoxical experience.

Peak Experience

Headspace and Visuals

As I moved deeper into the peak of the experience, my mental clarity remained intact. The headspace was still relatively clear, and I could think and reflect without any significant distortion. The visuals, although stronger than before, were not overwhelmingly intense. I noted that the visuals consisted of complex and fast-moving patterns, with a particular emphasis on swirling motions. The closed-eye visuals (CEVs) were at level 3 to 4 in terms of intensity, and the shapes that appeared were particularly notable for their digital-like quality.

Patterns and Visual Interpretation

The visual patterns were especially intriguing, characterized by distinct shapes and structures. These digital forms reminded me of the aesthetics seen in substances like 2C-B, although they were far more distinct and unique to this chem. As I am generally tolerant to psychedelics, I felt that these visuals were somewhat dampened in their strength. For instance, even high doses of LSD no longer yield mind-blowing closed-eye visuals for me, and I did not experience any colorful visuals during this trip—only dark, geometric shapes.

Interestingly, the visuals also included scenes that seemed to draw inspiration from Minecraft. Both closed-eye and open-eye visuals included images of Minecraft landscapes, with lines of Java code written on top. These scenes were fleeting and shifted too quickly to be fully comprehended, but the visual representation of the landscapes remains somewhat memorable. The code looked as though it had been written in the Eclipse IDE, which was interesting because I had been spending a significant amount of time the past week playing Minecraft and developing Java plugins. This personal activity likely influenced the content of the visuals.

Coming Down

Use of Etizolam for Sleep

After approximately four hours, I began to come down from the peak of the experience. In an attempt to ease myself into sleep, I took 2 milligrams of etizolam. The sedative effects of the benzo began to kick in after about 10 minutes, and I noticed that the visuals began to dampen significantly. However, the transition into a sedated state was not entirely smooth.

Sedation and Difficulty Sleeping

While I felt very sedated from the etizolam, I found it challenging to fall asleep. Despite being in a relaxed state, it took me around one to two hours to actually fall asleep. The lingering effects of the chem made it difficult to drift off, and even though I was sedated, I did not experience a deep, refreshing sleep.

Heart Rate and Post-Trip Effects

Interestingly, the etizolam did not seem to significantly lower my heart rate, which remained between 100 and 110 beats per minute while resting. Though the overall sedation helped me relax, it did not completely calm the heart palpitations that I had experienced during the peak of the trip. Ultimately, I did manage to sleep for about six hours, but I did not wake up feeling fully refreshed. The aftereffects lingered, leaving me feeling somewhat fatigued the next day.

Conclusion

This 85 mg dose of the psychedelic chem provided a unique experience, marked by an intense onset and a mixture of stimulant and sedative effects. While the visuals were interesting, they did not reach the intensity I might expect from other psychedelics, likely due to my personal tolerance levels. The overall experience was not overwhelmingly profound, but it did bring about intriguing patterns and visuals that reflected my personal interests and recent activities. The comedown was smooth with the aid of etizolam, but I did face some difficulties with sleep and heart rate regulation. Overall, it was a moderate experience, with both highs and lows, that provided valuable insights into how this particular chem behaves in my system.
